Inside my beauty bag – Helen, fashion writer

Each week we’ll be featuring some of our fellow beauty-addict friends and the contents of their beauty bags. First up, is Helen – a fashion and beauty writer from London.

“I’ve struggled with problematic skin since my teens, so it has been a long road to finding the perfect skincare routine. I even sought the advice of facialists and makeup artists who weren’t able to pin down the root cause of my breakouts. But, after talking to two friends from work about their skincare routines, I embarked upon a new routine almost a year ago. The two key brands of my routine are La Roche Posay and Trilogy. La Roche Posay’s Physiological Cleansing Gel (now discontinued – I’m savouring every last bit until I have to give it up and source another), Micellar Water and Effaclar H Soothing Moisturiser are my cleansing, make-up removing and moisturising dream team. My oily/ dry/ breakout skin has also benefited heavily from Trilogy’s Organic Rosehip Oil, which I religiously smooth on before my moisturiser morning and night. Not perfect, but definitely better, I count these products as my skin savours. The final essential in my kit? Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream. Amazing for pretty much everything, I use it most often in the winter months when skin takes a serious hit”.
