Cat on Glam Glow’s Super Mud Clearing Treatment

I’m a big fan of clay mud masks as they’re ideal for my oily/ dry combination skin, and in the past I’ve always found them pretty effective at clearing out blackheads and calming the skin. This Super Mud Clearing Treatment knocks the socks off anything I’ve tried before, which justified its eye-watering price point. It comes in a rather large, garish box and I think I’d probably avoid it ordinarily (if I hadn’t heard such rave reviews about it) as I’m always weary of products that promise too much on their packaging. Once I’d got over the size of the packaging vs the size of the pot, I placed a small amount to clean, dry skin. It smells a bit like liquorice and I found a little went a long way. A couple of minutes into drying, it clings onto every pore (perhaps not one to do with other people around) and you can literally see its work in progress. After leaving on for 10 minutes, I wiped off with a cotton flannel and my skin felt clean, fresh and calm. The results were instantly noticeable and my pores looked smaller. I love it so much, I’ve started using it every week as a top up in between facials’.

Fab on Origins Clear Improvement clay mask

I live in London and I find that all of the pollution can really leave my skin feeling dull and congested at times, so I was looking for a great mud mask to unclog pores and help with the congestion on my chin. Origins’s Clear Improvement clay mask promises all of the above with a clever mix of active ingredients: Activated Charcoal works to draw out impurities and nasties, while White China clay absorbs environmental pollutants. I started by applying a thin layer of the mask all over my face – it went on wet but started to dry and tighten after a couple of minutes. I then removed it with a hot flannel, finally cleaning my face with some cold water to close the pores. The result? My skin felt instantly cleaner, smoother and squeaky clean. My pores also appeared noticeably smaller. Cat and I have both started regularly using this product, and it’s suitable for both very sensitive and dry skins, as well as oily to normal.
